See NEXUS, Issue 2...HERE!-->[link]

I FINALLY saw JOHN CARTER...which was pretty GOOD! The movie is based on Edgar Rice Burroughs'sci-fi classic A Princess Of Mars. In it, John Carter is an veteran of the American Civil War who comes back home to nothing but strife and struggle. While prospecting for gold, he's attacked by Apaches and hide's in a cave where he finds a mystical artifact that transports him to another world. On this planet, he finds alien races at war and encounters a woman named Dejah Thoris who needs his help to end a centuries long war on her homeworld...her homeworld, of MARS!

This movie was actually pretty good, and the effects were fun to behold. John Carter realizes that because of the weak gravity on Mars he can jump HUNDREDS of feet higher than anyone else and it makes for some rather fantastic action scenes. The story is pure fantasy, with a little mystery thrown in, but nothing TOO deep. It's PG,-13, for the fight scenes, but just about anybody will have a fun time with this film.

I also saw the HUNGER GAMES!..which, really had NOTHING to do with hunger. In the future, the hunger Games are created to mark the anniversary of a great uprising in the country of Panem. The 12 districts that tried to fight the Capitol, but were beaten back, must now offer as "tribute" one young man and woman to fight to the death int he annual Hunger Games. Katniss Everdeen volunteers for the games, instead of seeing her younger sister go after she is picked in a lottery. Katniss befriends Peeta, the boy chosen from her district to go to the Hunger Games with her, who sees Katniss as having the best chance to survive the games. The event is almost treated like the Olympics in spectacle...the "contestants" are adorned in high-fashion outfits and paraded in front of tv cameras for all the world to see. However, once the games begin, it's every kid for themselves, as these youngsters are set into a booby trapped wilderness environment, where the wildlife is just as lethal as the other contestants. Throughout it all, Katniss and Peeta find each other again and become ever closer...However, they find that their bond may not be enough to pull each other through the unseen perils of The Hunger Games!

This movie was EXCELLENT! Not GREAT, but excellent!  The pageantry leading up to the games was where most of the entertainment was. It really focuses on Katniss and Peeta though...you don't learn too much about the other kids. I suppose that makes it easier on the audience when they bite the BIG one! It's rated PG-13 'cause youngin's get KILLED...and not in a NICE way...It's nowhere NEAR as bloody as Battle Royale though...which is what the Hunger Games is REALLY based off...that's right...I SAID it! Eat my Japanese Manga Booty!

Nexus 3 is JUST around the corner...Here's hoping that I and all the artists get done in time. It seems I may have taken on a bit TOO much work though. Now, fitness model Megan Avalon asked me to edit some of her videos and create a new Facebook fanpage for her...both of which I have no IDEA how to DO! I would really appreciate help from anyone who is good with video editing or fanpage building...I'll even commission you if necessary. I'd even be thankful if you could just point me to a GREAT Facebook page, so I can at least COPY what they're doing.
